Lime Mature Pleached Espalier Tree Information
What is a Mature Pleached Espalier Tree?
The term 'pleached' refers to trees that are trained to form a screen of branches and foliage a single straight stem. The single stem of our pleached trees are between 2 and 2.2m tall. Planted in rows at set distances, they will form an elevated 'green wall' that can be ideal as an alternative to high fencing.
nnEspalier pleached trees differ from standard pleached trees in that branches are trained quite specifically along the cane structure in 'lines' to accommodate flowers and fruiting varieties of trees. Having space in between the rows of foliage allows for even development of flowers and fruit ensuring plenty of room to develop and grow.
nnMature pleached espalier trees are established trees with full growth development on the cane head structure compared to the fresh pleached versions. Having been carefully nurtured and trained over an extended period of time, these lovely specimens feature beautiful, full rows of foliage with abundant flowers giving way to fruit as the season progresses. These particular pleached trees offer a varied aesthetic to the standard pleached tree and in full flower or fruit are simply stunning. nn
